Music, art and movement are a vital part of the creative and educational growth of young children. These experiences with the arts support children’s innate desire to create, satisfy their curiosity, and open avenues for self expression and learning in all curriculum areas. Recent studies support the importance of the arts in brain development. These activities with instruments, sound, music, rhythm, and dance build memory, attention span, motor and abstract reasoning skills.
