Update August 10, 2021: At this time, we are highly recommending that all students and staff wear face masks for the first few weeks of classes. We will reevaluate periodically and any changes or updates to this policy will be sent via email to parents.

Fall classes start in August, and registration opened on July 1st. We have implemented the following procedures in order to limit the spread of germs. Our goal is to do everything we can to prevent illness.

We, as dance teachers, know that working in person is the best way to help our dancers with skills and progression. While we are glad for technology, the teachers are not able to give the best corrections through a computer. In person is always the best way for dancers to progress. We hope that everyone will see the extra steps we are taking to make sure that the studio is clean and safe for all of our dancers.

  • Staff regularly cleans and sanitizes all frequently touched surfaces (ballet barres, doorknobs, cubbies, etc)
  • Implemented a new system for cleaning props and equipment (rhythm sticks, bean bags, scarves, tumbling mats, etc).
  • Turned our lobby into a second studio so that we can teach two classes.
  • Staggered class times.
  • Smaller class sizes to allow for better social distancing.
  • Dancers should use the restroom before leaving home (we are trying to limit bathroom usage as much as possible, however if they need to go during class they can).
  • Dancers need to be dressed in dance attire – for girls – leotard and tights, hair in a ponytail or bun, with a slipon cover up on, and slipon shoes; for boys – shorts and a t-shirt and slipon shoes. We are limiting the use of dressing rooms to limit germs.
  • Bring with you: a water bottle and yoga mat labeled with your name and dance shoes. Do not wear dance shoes outside of the studio as it will ruin them.
  • All dancers need to bring a yoga mat to class – these will be our social distancing “islands” to help keep them appropriately spaced.
  • The dancers will change to dance shoes and then use hand sanitizer.
  • Dancers will stay in their assigned social distancing spot until we are ready to go into the studio
  • Each dancer will have an assigned cubby for their items.
  • No food is permitted in the studio.
  • The dancers will have an assigned spot during dance class.
  • At the end of class, each dancer will put their coverup and slip on shoes back on, and carry their belongings back home. Nothing will be left at the studio.
  • Dropoff/Pickup:
    • Preschool dance parents should walk up to the door 5 minutes prior to class time to drop off. Please maintain appropriate social distance while dropping off your dancer. Parents will need to pickup promptly at the end of class. Please wait outside the studio door and maintain social distancing.
    • Elementary and Up dance parents should pull up to the curb at the studio door 5 minutes prior to class time to drop off. Parents should remain in the car during dropoff and pickup. Parents should pull up to the curb promptly at the end of class. You should plan to arrive a few minutes early and please remain in the car while waiting for the dancers to be dismissed.
  • The door will be locked during class and no parents or visitors are allowed to remain in the lobby during class.
  • The instructor will clean and sanitize the studio between each class.
  • If someone in your household has been diagnosed with Covid-19 or has symptoms of the disease, your dancer will not be permitted to come to class.
