Below is all the information we have sent out about this year’s Recital:
Our studio will have THREE shows at Recital again this year. Happily Ever After Recital will be at Decatur High School in the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 30th AND Sunday, May 31st. CAST A will be at 5:00PM on Saturday, May 30th; CAST B will be at 1:00PM on Sunday, May 31st; and CAST C will be at 4:30PM on Sunday, May 31st.
Please read through this entire page for information about Rehearsals and Recital, and see the lists below for each CAST to see which show your child’s class will be performing in. We do our best to match up children who are in more than one class, or have siblings, however sometimes we may not be able to accommodate everyone. Please make a note of all your child(ren)’s classes and times.
All classes at the studio and at our schools/preschools participate in the Recital except for the Monday morning Toddler class, Tuesday 2 year old class at Frasier Center, Wednesday Mini Movers Enrichment class at First Baptist Lawrenceville and Friday morning Toddler class.
Recital Tickets
Remaining tickets are limited but still available for Cast A and B. The link to purchase tickets is: https://27023.danceticketing.com/r/events/ Please make sure that you bring your printed tickets or that your guests have their tickets via their phone. We will have volunteers checking tickets at the door and ushers to help you find your assigned seating. You may only sit in the assigned seats that you purchased. CAST C is sold out and CAST A has just a few remaining seats (updated as of 4/25). Online ticket sales close on Friday, May 29.
All children, not performing in the recital, must have a ticket as per the fire marshall. We ask that if you have guests that become disruptive or disinterested that you please take them to the lobby. We are teaching our dancers how to be a good audience and want to help our young ones in the audience learn how to be a good participant. Please do not hand a phone or tablet to your child during the performance as the light and actions are disruptive to those around you and then become distracting to others. Thank you for your cooperation.
Pictures and Video
During the dress rehearsal you may video and take pictures. However, during the recital no photography or video cameras permitted. It is disruptive to the other guests, and to our dancers to have people holding up phones or tablets throughout the performance. Our ushers will escort you to the lobby if they see you using phones or tablets during the Recital. We will have a videographer for all performances. Recital Pictures – will be May 15, 16, and 17 at our dance studio located at 4450 Hugh Howell Rd, Ste 7, Tucker GA 30084. Steven Dewberry of SRD Photography is taking our recital pictures. We have limited spots left – signup for Pictures here.

Recital Merchandise
If you have not yet ordered a Recital T-shirt, Video, Recital Flowers or a bun kit, you can pre-order those here until May 1st. After that date, we will have a limited number of shirts and flowers available.
Recital Program Advertisements and Shoutouts
We have a limited number of advertisement spots in our Recital Program. These programs are professionally printed and distributed to over 1,500 guests during recital weekend, and many families keep them as keepsakes. This is a strong opportunity for local businesses to reach families in our community while supporting Pointe of Grace. Ad space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ads must be submitted by midnight on May 4th in order to be included in our Recital Program.

Studio Rehearsals
Studio Rehearsals are at our studio on the following dates. All dancers in that CAST will need to attend the entire rehearsal from 5PM-7PM. If your child takes more than one class and is in 2 shows they will need to be present at both studio rehearsals. This gives all our students the opportunity to practice the show in order, participate in being an audience, practice our finale, and also gives our staff and helpers the chance to learn and practice the order of the show. Parents do not stay for Studio Rehearsals. Please note that the last week of regular classes is May 11-16th. We do not have our regular dance schedule the weeks of Studio Rehearsals.
Studio Rehearsals for CAST A are on Tuesday, May 19th from 5PM-7PM and Tuesday, May 26th from 5PM-7PM.
Studio Rehearsals for CAST B are on Wednesday, May 20th from 5PM-7PM and Wednesday, May 27th from 5PM-7PM.
Studio Rehearsals for CAST C are on Thursday, May 21st from 5PM-7PM and Thursday, May 28th from 5PM-7PM.
Dancers should wear regular dance class attire for Studio Rehearsals. Do not wear dance shoes in the parking lot as it will ruin them and do not bring your child barefoot. Bring their dance shoes, small disposable water bottle and a non messy snack (goldfish, pretzels, etc) in a labeled ziploc baggie. Important Note: NO Peanuts or Nuts. NO Sodas, Juice or Gatorades. All snack items should be disposable. Any leftover items or containers will be discarded.
For Studio Rehearsals, do not pull up to the curb to dropoff/pickup as this is a safety concern for our dancers and we do not want to block any of the other businesses in the shopping center. You will receive a Pick Up Tag with your child’s Group number (Group 1 or Group 2)/name on it.
4:45-5 – Drop off at our studio door- please park and walk your child to the studio door
6:45 – Pick up Group 1 – walk up to the studio door with your Pick Up Tag
6:55 – Pick up Group 2 – walk up to the studio door with your Pick Up Tag
Dress Rehearsal
Dress Rehearsal is at Decatur High School in the Performing Arts Center.
CAST A will have Dress Rehearsal on Friday, May 29th. CAST B and CAST C will have Dress Rehearsal on Saturday, May 30th. Each class received an email on April 13th with your child’s class time for Dress Rehearsal. Your child’s dance teacher will remind you of that time during Costume Check. If you have a child taking more than one class or if you have more than one child taking classes, you will receive a separate email for each. Please mark the times down on your calendar.
We will go over all the details for Rehearsals and Recital at our Costume Check. Costume check will be during your child’s class from April 27th-May 2nd. Please mark your calendars as parents will need to attend your child’s dance class on that date to learn important information about Recital and Rehearsals.
Dress Rehearsal is in the Decatur High School Performing Arts Center, 310 North McDonough Street Decatur, 30030. Please arrive inside the PAC 20 minutes early to get your child dressed. Please have hair and makeup done before you arrive. A parent will need to stay during the rehearsal. Do not permit your child to wear their costume or dance shoes in the car.
Parking information for Decatur High School
Please note that parking is on one end of the High School and you will need to walk along N. McDonough to enter the PAC. Handicapped guests will need to be dropped off at the front entrance of the PAC before you park, as there is only paid parking at the front. Allow extra time to park and walk to the PAC for Dress Rehearsal and Recital.

Happily Ever After Recital Details
Recital will be at the Decatur High School Performing Arts Center, 310 North McDonough Street, Decatur 30030. See map and parking directions above under the Dress Rehearsal section. Please arrive 30 minutes early to dress and get your child ready. Please have hair and makeup done before you arrive. Once your child is dressed and ready you will leave them backstage. All dancers stay backstage for the entire recital. The recital will last approximately 1 hour and a half. Dancers who have costume changes will have assistance from our teachers backstage. Do not permit your child to wear their costume or dance shoes in the car. The auditorium will open for seating 30 minutes prior to the show starting.

Costume & Hair
Please make sure that your child’s costume is in a hanging bag when traveling to and from the theatre. Do not permit your child to wear his/her costume in the car. Also, please do not allow your child to eat or drink in their costume once they have gotten dressed. Your child will receive tights to go with their costume at Costume check. Please do not have them wear them before recital. Make a note at Costume check of how their hair needs to be styled for recital. Don’t forget their hair piece. Please no underwear, jewelry, fingernail polish, drawings on their body (stamps, markers, etc). Bun Kits are available for purchase (cash only) for $5. This includes hair net, hair clips, bobby pins, hair pins and ponytail holders. If you prefer to get your own, the hair supplies needed are shown below – please make sure that you get hairnets, pinch clips, etc that match your child’s hair color.
Summer Camps & Classes
Registration for Summer Camps and Summer Classes has begun, registration is here. This is a great opportunity to have some creative fun this summer. Your child won’t want to miss it!
